I have an old house from 1940, in Gettysburg PA we are recladding with a combination of Hardie plank siding for the lower level of the house and NewTechWood cladding for the upper floor of the house.

The walls currently are plaster inside with thin layer of what looks like cardboard sheeting and then vinyl siding. As we are removing all the siding I am considering fiberglass batting and then a layer of foil faced isoboard and then the hardie and Newtechwood on top of that. OR do I need to add Tyvek or similar? Will the Isoboard be sufficient as a vapor barrier? For the Hardie and the NewTechWood cladding there is a small gap between that surface and the isoboard which I understand acts as a way to dry any moisture that may get through the siding. Am I mistaken? Just do not want water penetration issue in the future and a good insulation factor. Thanks for the advice
