House required 2 be 'lifted+ elevated' from Floods. Garage depth split into 2 levels.Grade level has 12' ceiling, then 6 stairs to another level w/ 8' Ceiling. Need High Lift Garage Door + Door framed out for 8'wx 7'h door. Car will not fit into lower level. 3-1/2' high Cement Foundation to framing for door. AIA wants to cut + notch out Cement Fndn which I'm against as one side of Fndn 5" from corner of house & other side only has 15"to another Fndn Wall.
If I change Garage Door to 7' x 7' I will then have an extra 6 inches on both sides to add the required 2"x6" floor to ceiling framing which is needed for high lift rail & support brackets.
Can this be done & what can GC use to fill in space between framing & existing Fndn Wall. Can they pour addt;l. cement ?? Pics enclosed as wierd design by AIA who should have known we needed a High Lift as someone will be severly injured if door was opened while someone was on the steps. HELP Please.

Try re-writing without all of the abbreviations. You know what you are writing but we don't have a clue.
