Craftsman 10 in.radial arm owners manual
Does anyone know how I can download an owners manual for an old Craftsman 10 in. radial arm saw--model no. 113.197751?
Thanks
Thanks
Unlike most manufacturers S***s doesn't offer downloads of their manuals even though you've already bought it once. They do, however, offer to RE-SELL it and send it in the mail. Even H****r F*****t offers free downloads of their manuals. You can order a copy from s***s.com by following this thread:
s***s.com
"parts"
search model number "113.197751"
"continue"
search "manual"
click "non illustrated parts"
select "owners manual"
place order
Incidently, the part number fot the manual is 63784.
Good Luck

The manual for this model is available by calling Customer Service at 1-800-325-1184.
There is also a recall on this saw due to a great number of serious injuries. A free guard, new table and hardware will be sent. Go to http://www.radialarmsawrecall.com/index2.htm You will need model number and serial number found on the front of the saw base. There is a manual to be found through a link on this page but is is to be used with the original manual.
If you need help with the installation, they will pay $100.00 to cover shipping expenses for the yoke assembly.

Hi...I too bought an old Craftsman Radial 10" Saw without a manual. If anyone is copying the manual I would happily send $ for postage and paper. They were built to last, too bad Sears didn't make the booklet the same way.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

I decided to just start ripping things apart and doing the trial and error approach. Changing the wiring for 220 was a piece of cake. Truly, anyone could do it. The saw cuts with great vigor, now!!! We will try to keep the fingers out of the blade.

Simply remove the plastic cover on the motor housing. There is a VERY EASY wiring diagram showing which colors go to which connectors for 110 or 220.
Even someone with zero electrical experience should be able to complete this taask in about 10 minutes.
I would assume since you bought a radial arm saw, you know what you are doing and are pretty good with your hands. The radial arm is easily the most dangerous tool in your shop.
Good luck

I also woul like the pdf manual for the Sears Radial Arm Saw. I need to know if I need a 20 amp breaker for this.
Model 113.23100 requires 11 amp.(120Volts) so you are OK with a 15 amp breaker. If you want this pdf manual I need your Email.

Hi all, I bought a 10" Craftsman Radial Arm Saw, it has the lazer on it.
The saw head is all the way back to the colume end, it seems to be locked and I can't pull it forward, no matter what I try. Has it been pushed to far back, or is there a lock system that I'm missing...
Write me here, or at b138@hotmail if you can help...

good afternoon, if you get the pdf version of the owners manual can you forward it to me, thanks, dave in ga.
there will be a latch or thumb screw on the sawmotor carriage assy, often on the right hand set of rollers - look for a thumbscrew or latch lever that binds the carriage to the rails.

I just found out there is a serious recall on this saw. If you have one contact Sears on the web or at your local Sears store. You have to have the model number and serial number to check if your saw is one of the recalls. If your saw is on the recall list all necessary parts will be sent to you or your saw can be sent to the factory for repair.
I am just another fool with this saw, but no manual...Sears wants $8 for it plus shipping...I have already given Sears plenty of money for parts to get this saw back in shape. I would sure appriciate the PDF if anyone has it...Once I recieve it I will upload it to a web address for all, and then noone should have to send it again.
Thanks for your help.

After reving the cover and wiring to the switch I took my motor to the local small engine repair man. The instructions are UNDER THE COVER! He just switched two wires to different teminals. It tells you what goes where. Took less than 5 minutes.
This manual is much needed not only by me but many on this site is ther a way it can be posted on the site so they can click on it and down load it from here. how simple. I have gotten my recall Items but still need the owners manual 113.19771 or 113 1997751 i'll take either one Thanks you can post or email me with the pdf file.

I am attempting to assemble a mobile base for a 113.199250 and I'd like to get it right. Two wheels have breaks (?) and two do not. Which corners do these go on? Anyone have assy instructions?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Old Wood Working Machines has the PDF manual for the #199200 (and with a base # 199250)
Check the site.....scroll down to RAS #199200......The manual shows the standard legs....NO casters
The casters fit standard holes in the legs.....usually they allow the user to select their location.......I suspect you'll want the front two wheels to lock for easy access as you approach/move the RAS.......

do you remember what the recall was repairing? a couple of years ago I got the updated blade guard as a recall. The motor on my saw just died. Sears doesn't have a replacement unit but sells all the parts. I am not an electrician so I am stuck at the moment.
The recall was for an improved Blade Guard Assembly, it shields the blade more for your safety. You also get a complete new Table Top with the kit.
The saw was manufactured by Emerson Tool Co. They may be able help you with the motor.
Here is a link to the recall webpage: http://www.radialarmsawrecall.com/
Here is a webpage on a start up problem: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_to_fix_Craftsman_radial_arm_saw_starting_problem
I had a problem where it didn't want to start. I would take a good size screwdriver by the bit and would rap the motor with the handle. It would start. After having to use this procedure for 10 15 times to start the saw it did not act up again.
good luck,
Walt

I saw the recall notice in a Sears store and did get the new guard and table top. that was an added bonus. I will look up emerson tool and see if I can get a new motor. Sears has all the parts but not a complete motor. Again, Thanks.
After researching more and speaking with my Elec. Eng. brother both seem to think it is the Motor Start Capacitor. I have ordered a new one from Sears and will reply back if that fixes the motor. I found a good article here on repairing this model.

John,
Thanks for your reply. I received this manual from Emerson Tools when they sent me the recall kit, but it's only for the Guard Kit, not the owners manual. I have an electronic model and the electronic angle display screen doesn't work even after I replaced the battery. The only angles I am sure of are the 90 & 45, all other will be guesses as their is no manual angle adjustments on this saw.

I was given an old Craftsman 10" Radial Arm Saw but it does not have the stand with it, just the saw and the mounting frame with a homemade plywood table. How can I figure out what the model# is without the stand so I can find a manual? It looks like it might be quite a bit older than the models mentioned in this thread. Also does anyone know where I can get a stand and adjustable table for it?
Can anyone provide where I can find the manual that comes with the recall installation kit in pdf, easier to get on line? I ordered this kit but have misplaced the manual which tells you how to install everything.
Thanks

Came across this site while looking for a manual for Lawn mower I just purchased and was surprised to see the comments that Sears ie Craftsman does not have manuals available unless you pay for them.
I found a Sears parts site that if you put in the model it will pull up information on the item and on the right hand site of the web page it shows a link to a manual if available. You folks might want to check out this link

I just purchased a Craftsman 10" Radial Arm Saw today for $70. It needs a bit of cleaning up, but seems to work well. While looking for a user manual, I found this site along with the below info. I hope this helps.
You can get a pdf copy of the user manual here. http://www.owwm.com/mfgindex/pubdetail.aspx?id=2238
FYI: There is a recall on the Craftsman saws having a model number starting with 113.
You can find that info here.

apparently the Craftsman Radial Arm Saws are/were made by a company called emerson tool company and are the subject of a recall for a defective blade guard - check out the link below and down load the manual and save a couple of bucks since sears still charging for the manual

Nice try BUT......That's the manual for the replacement BLADE GUARD.....NOT for the saw......it has the generic "saw" manual without exploded views and parts breakdown......
Original manuals can usually be found by registering and searching at "Manage My Home"

OR
Searching at OldWoodWorkingMachines:

"......measure Once.....cut Twice....
throw that one away and cut a new one...."

I got a copy of 1 of the saw manuals. I got it from a link on the Sears parts website. My saw is pre 1977 so it is not a recall. Check the DOM. Enter your part number and if they have it woolah. If you don't know your number try this one, 113.23100.
I found the Craftsman Manual for the Radial Saw 113.197751 http://www.hammerwall.com/Manuals/Craftsman/Description/113.197751/Craftsman%2010%20Inch%20Radial%20Saw/L0711116/
