I am just about to begin installing a backup sump pump to my existing sump pump. How hard is the installation? I need to know the difficulty level, so I can call in the pros if needed. I am somewhat handy, but am not a plumber. Please provide any advice.
Just make sure you have both check valves installed in the right directions. Read all directions. Then when you cut the wye into the existing piping clean and dry the outside of the existing piping before applying cement (and cleaner if using pvc) to the outside of the pipe and the inside of the fitting. Push the pipe and fitting together and give it one quarter turn. If you do this, everything will be ok. Not too tough of and installation. good Luck Raymond Plumbing Prof
