We're in the process of building a new two story home and it's been recommended that we install something called an in-line water monitor. Apparently it monitors the water flow into the house and if it thinks too much is being used it will shut off. This is critical if there is a burst in say the upstairs of the house and we're all gone for a few days.

Anyone heard of such a thing and where can I find more info, pricing, installation, etc.?

Thanks for your help.

However you raised my curiousity level. Sure sounds like a good idea, but I don't know how this device could function properly if 3 people wanted back-to back showers. Maybe erik will reply, he's a decent plumber out in Ca. area and he may have heard of one. Sorry could not be of much help, but will do a google search for you. Tom
