I want to remodel my basement and install a bathroom. The problem is that the septic tank is above the basement. What kind of pump do I get to pump the water up and out to the septic tank? And can a washer be installed also?

Thank you so much to anyone with advice,

Rachel

I have never used either of these but there are systems as you describe by a company called Saniflo (www.saniflo.com). There are also a variety of sewage ejector pumps available by other companies. A professional plumber will be able to give you more details.

go to www.libertypumps.com. I believe they feature what you are looking for on their home page. They make a crock with a pre-installed pump. I have installed several without any problems. Keep in mind the pit will need to be vented via 2" PVC and a check valve will need to be installed.
