I was trying to remove a moen cartride with the cartridge remover and I think I only removed the core (the inner metal piece). Based on the new replacement cartridge I bought, I think I left the outer brass case/cartridge behind. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this out? It doesn't even look like anything else can come out.

You have to twist the cartridge inside the hole so the two upper tabs are perpendicular to the cutouts where you slide the clip into. Inside the moen packet for the new cartridge, should have been a white plastic cap. This is designed to fit into the slot. You can then use an adjustible wrench to rotate it 180 degrees. Once you do this, the tabs will be accessible. I then use a vice grip pliers to clamp onto the tabs and pull it out. It does take a bit of pulling, but once you rotate it, it should come out.

Good Luck
