What is the cut at the end of a crown molding where it stops? That is when it ends and does not meet another piece of molding. Our foyer molding stops at the end of the wall where the stair wall starts. We want to do this in another house. It appears to be several 45 degree cuts to create the end.

It is a 45.

Place you crown in position upside down on your miter saw to the spring angle, and set the miter at 45, this is an outside corner cut.

Now reverse to the other 45 for the other side and cut that. Lay the return portion of the crown flat and set the miter at 90 ( 0 degrees) with the top to the back and cut from the point.
