I'M rewiring a ceiling light. the wires were chared beyond recognition.I have 4 sets of wires 12/2 sheathed electrical cable. #1 set wire(power/Black wire and white).#2 set (to another light).#3 set (to another light).#4 set (going to Light switch). now the light fixture has a black & white wire . I wired all black together & them wired all white together. The light came on but dim & when I cut the switch off it blew the fuse.what wires do you hook the switch up to & what wires do you hook to ceiling light.

Black from #1 to white of #4. Mark the white wire with a wrap of black tape.

Black from #4 to black of 2&3 and fixture.

White of #1 to white of 2&3 and fixture.

Tom's answer will work if you want all the lighting fixtures to come on at the same time. If not, wire:
Black #1 to Black of #2 and #3 and white of #4 (with a wrap of black tape)
White #1 to White of #2 and #3 and white of fixture.
Black of #4 to black of first light fixture.

With these wiring connections, a switch can control lights #2 and #3 separately.

Good luck! Don't forget to turn the circuit off before you do the wiring.
