I hooked up a flourescent light to an existing circuit in my basement and blew a circuit. Once reset, I hooked up the old light fixture (bulb type) and it didn't work. Could I have burned out the switch? The light is powered through the fixture to the switch.

CMSeymour - hi, check to see if the circuit has a GFCI outlet on it. If so, reset it if it's tripped. If you find one and it's not tripped, then you can remove power from the circuit and check the wall switch with an ohmmeter to see if it's shorted. If not, then you'll have some more troubleshooting to do. Give these items a try first and post back to let us know how it's going. Good luck! Jim D/West Point, VA
