How do I found out if a wall is a load-bearing wall?
on a straight building with trusses the load bearing walls will be located on the outside walls that run parellel with the ridge of the roof, but most houses are not just a rectangle, and it could get complicated, or if you have rafters some internal walls may be holding your ceiling up.... your best bet would be to get a compentant framer to look at it, even if he charges you fifty or sixty bucks for a consult, it would be worth it to know that your roof wont shift or fall in on you....
