I would like to know the safest way to hang pictures (sizes 20x20 mostly)on plaster walls. The house I am in currently was built in the 40's or 50's. The walls are in good shape otherwise but, I dont want them damaged if I hang some things on the wall.

I would appreciate any advice you can offer me! Thanks!

Don't use any "stick-on" holder that has glue or paste. They can pull away large chunks when removed later.
If you're a renter, you might want to check your contract before doing anything. It could cost you later.

Use these type of frame holders metal holder with a nail going through it. Sorry for the terrible diagram but didn't have much to work with! They vary in size according to the wait of the frame the bigger units can hold 100+ lbs frames! They are perfect for plaster and drywall applications. You can find them at any home centre.
