HELP!! About 5 years ago we took 22 year old wallpaper off of a wall in our kitchen. We sanded a little but painted 2 coats of semi-gloss without a primer. Needless to say we now have a mess. The walls are chipping a peeling. Besides scrapping and sanding and a lot of elbow grease, are there any products that we could use to help remove this paint? We have been told that are best bet is to replace the drywall....we would rather not if we could avoid it.

You could try a wallpaper steamer if the paint you used is a latex/acrylic semi-gloss and see if that will take it off. You need to be sure to get all the old adhesive off before you paint again as that is what is giving you all the problems now.
