I have some old oak barn wood that I would like to use for a hardwood floor. Can anyone give me some directions or links that can tell me the steps I need to go through ie sanding, types of finish, etc. Thank you

What you need is to bring the wood to a mill and have them mill it for you into interlocking planks with a smooth floor finish. Otherwise, you will not end up with a solid floor and the wood might splinter or warp.

Doing it yourself would require a planer and router, which would provide shockingly imperfect results compared to a mill.
