Okay, so I've been reading and hearing that you shouldn't paint stucco. What a crock. I live in Phoenix where every house is stucco, and they are always being painted.

Anyway, what is the best paint to use, as well as what is the best way to apply it?

I have both rollers as well as a gravity feed sprayer that connects to my air compressor. Which will do a better job? I am thinking the stucco paint will be too thick for the sprayer though.

I am not trying to change the color either. In fact, I found a color of Behr outdoor latex that matches to what my house has faded to, which sounds perfect.

Thank you

Sure you can paint stucco and it hold paint very well.

The first thing you need to do is wash the stucco before you paint and this is to remove dirt and mildew. A good product to use is JOMAX.

If the stucco has never been painted, then you will need to use a masonry primer and a good would is Sherwin Williams LOXON Conditioner. The topcoat can either be Sherwin Williams Super Paint or Duration in a flat finish. If your stucco is not to rough then it can be rolled with a long nap roller or you could spray and back roll.

Hope this helps out.

The folks at SW can match that Behr color for you.

I just had all the old lap siding removed from my house and it had all the old sash pulley windows removed and replaced with the vinyl windows. It is 2 story and looks good. But the stucco guy said he was finished..Finished????..what about the paint or coating? He said "That's not my job"..he never even came back to clean up his piles of mess and debris. Mind you, I like what he did, but he took his do we climb up high to do this?? And this guy left me almost broke, so we have to do it what do I do? Where do I begin? Do I need to wait? How long? Do I need to spray it with Thompson's water seal first? Do I use a stain? a paint? Please help to
