Hello,

After purchasing a new home I spent a lot of time sanding and sealing my oak floors with water based poly. I loved how it work and the results were fantastic.

The other night my wife decided to move some furniture. She decided to drag the piece across the floor and now I think I can run open a slot car track.

I was thinking about sanding the areas with a palm sander then putting a top coat of the same poly. Does anyone have any ideas if this will work or will it make matters worse?

Would love to hear some ideas.

Thanks

how deep is the scratch?.. is the finished scratched, or is the floor gouged?.. if the finish is scratched there is an easy way to repair it..also, is the floor stained or is it natural?..

Thanks for the reply. Just the finished is scratched and the floor is natural.

if you "spot" repair.. it'll look funny, I'd re-screen the area, and put another coat down.. that'd be the best way..
