We installed doug fir tongue & groove over a particle board base 12 years ago. Obviously, the wood was somewhat green, since there are now up to 1/4 gaps between the boards. Does anyone know if the cobblestone wood floor "grout" formula of 3/1 sawdust to lindseed oil would be a good filler and then of course seal it. I thought this would look better than the "rope" filler someone suggested. Also someone suggested Buthers' Wax, what is it and where could one get it? Thanks.

I doubt it was green. Ambient moisture drying out from it would be normal and cause that much shrinkage. The mix of sawdust and linseed or whatever other finish you might use is good.

The wax mentioned is Butcher's Wax. Any good hardware store.
