We got flooded during Hurricane Ivan and had to pull out our carpet. Underneath were hardwood floors in varying degrees of disrepair. We do NOT have flood insurance so there is no money for new floors or carpet. A friend of ours is a contractor so we hired him to fix the insurance covered items and he is doing the floors on the cheap for us. He redid the livingroom and My gosh! Wow! If the rest of the house turns out as well, it will be money well spent (if painful!). However no one resealed the floors for a long time (not to mention the 7 days they sat soaking in salty flood waters). I have cleaned them with various mixtures of bleach/water and lysol with varying degrees of success. He sanded down as deep as he felt he could (lots of warped edges from the water). ANY ideas of stain removal solutions for heavy traffic areas which have left traffic marks. Even stained our floors are gorgeous and won't be covered with carpet.

Thanks for any suggestions.
