If you’ve ever lost a dustpan in the depths of your utility closet (guilty as charged), then the EyeVac Pro is a breath of fresh air. Imagine sweeping crumbs, pet fur, spilled rice, or flour, and instead of doing the broom-and-dustpan dance, you simply sweep toward one spot; the EyeVac glows, its infrared sensor kicks in, and wham! The debris disappears into its canister.

It’s much faster than waiting for a robotic vacuum to clean the entire floor, but you still have to do a little sweeping by hand. I spent 2 weeks testing the EyeVac Pro in my own kitchen, and here’s what happened.

What is the EyeVac Pro Automatic Dustpan?

The premise behind the EyeVac Pro’s design is simple: it’s a stationary, plug-in unit that offers touchless suction on demand. It uses a 1400-watt motor, dual high-efficiency filters (including one at the air exhaust), and infrared sensors that activate the moment your broom gets close.

  • Easy On-Off operation from knob on side of the EyeVac
  • Power cord stores neatly on the back of the EyeVac
  • Additional air quality filter on side of the Eyevac
  • Removing the canister filter for cleaning
  • Filter can be removed and cleaned
  • Sweeping near the sensor, triggers the Vacuum to come on

Testing the EyeVac Pro: Pros and Cons

In my testing, the biggest benefit was eliminating the bend-and-squat routine that comes with a traditional dustpan, along with the inevitable spills and those stubborn grains of sand that never seem to make it in. Instead, I was able to grab the broom, sweep the debris toward the EyeVac, and watch it disappear in one clean pass.

The suction is strong enough that I rarely had to go back for a second sweep, which made everyday cleanups noticeably faster.

After a week of testing, a few strengths stood out immediately. There were also a couple of practical considerations to keep in mind.

What worked well:

  • Fast, reliable suction: When I swept dust, dog fur, rice, or flour toward the sensor zone, the EyeVac kicked on instantly and pulled everything in without needing extra passes.
  • Clean air and easy maintenance: The dual-filter system kept the exhaust air clean, and both filters were simple to remove, rinse, and reinstall.
  • Straightforward emptying: The bin slides out easily, tips neatly into the trash, and goes right back in—no bags, no fuss.

What could be better:

  • Lack of a carry handle: There’s no carry handle on the bin, so when I tipped it out, I was holding it by the sides/bottom—which is fine, but a handle would make it easier.

In my home, with its hard floors, pets, and constant kitchen debris, the EyeVac Pro made everyday sweeping noticeably quicker and easier, and it quickly became part of my regular cleaning routine.

Is the EyeVac Pro worth $229?

At $229, this is not a budget-tier dustpan, but it’s a question of value. If you sweep frequently (pets, kids, kitchen messes) and you’re tired of the dustpan struggle, then yes, the EyeVac Pro pays dividends in time saved, fewer bending/movement steps, and a cleaner finish.

  • It’s especially useful for households with pets and hard floors.
  • It’s also beneficial for anyone with back issues or who dislikes the bending/dusting cycle since it removes that step.
  • On the flip side, if you rarely sweep or your messes are mostly on carpet/soft floors, you might see less benefit. Also, if you have many cleaning appliances already competing for space, you’ll want to think about where this sits (since it needs plug access and occupies real estate).

Overall, it’s a smart investment for anyone who sweeps regularly. As long as you have a convenient place to keep it plugged in, it earns its keep quickly.

Is the EyeVac Pro right for you?

The EyeVac Pro delivers on its promise: making swept-up debris vanish without the fuss of a traditional dustpan. In my real-world tests, I found it reliable, efficient, and worth the space it takes up. The only thing holding it back from a perfect score is the material quality, which feels a little on the lightweight plasticy side–just not real substantial–and the lack of a bin carry handle. For many homes, it’ll feel like a big upgrade to the sweeping routine.

It’s best for homes with hard floors, pets, and frequent messes. It delivers strong suction and truly hands-free cleanup with an easy-to-maintain filter system. Just be sure you have a visible, convenient outlet for it, since placement matters and it’s not designed for carpet-heavy spaces.
