We have a sewage system (NOT a septic system) and have planted a weeping willow tree close to a pond in our sideyard.

Is there any danger of the root system creating a problem for our home?

I feel you may have a major problem in the future. I had same several years ago, and the tree was aprox 50 to 75 feet away. any type willow has a tendency to follow roots and branches to any moisture area. I would completely eliminate this immediately.
