My neighbor's back yard is full of crab grass. What I need to know is if the grass would be thick enough to prevent any dog from digging a hole into it, especially if it's at the bottom of a fence line.

thanks,

I would think not since it is dirt, Our dogs have actually chewed through fences have gone under 5 inches of concrete slabs to get out, Thank goodness they have been taught not to dig by the fences now

The tennants who moved in next door have a pit bull pup and mom. I have 2 small dogs plus an elderly parent.

The adult dog I've noticed is always by the fence looking through the slats. That bothers me.

How long would it take a dog to dig through crab grass I wonder. From my side of the fence, I've put down a hard plastic sheeting on the ground and put bricks on top of this sheeting.

Can you suggest other ways to deter the dog from going into my yard? What I want to do is put a wire net on the fence. But that does not solve how to stop the dog from digging its way under the fence. Maybe a wire netting on the ground surface weighed down with brick would be of value?

thanks,

I would talk to the neighbors and let them know your concerns, Ask if when the dogs are at the fence if you could spray them with the water hose. Also if it is chain you may want to ask your neighbors to go in half for an electric fence detterant for animals Also call your animal control and let them know your concerns in the event something does happen.

You said the dogs could see through the slates (wooden) if so I would replaced?
