I am interested in purchasing a 10" table saw and have looked at Craftsman's model that goes for $599 and have also been looking at the Jet and Delta models which are $500 to $700 depending on table extensions and fence system. I am not very knowledgeable and not too sure what I will be making, but do not want to regret a poor purchase. I want this to be my last. I do know that I do not want to get into the larger cabinet models and that I do want an excellent fence system. Any suggestions? I am antsy to get this so any advice would be greatly appreciated in the very near future. Thank you

I just bought a Delta 10" portable table saw from Home Depot for $149. Like you mentioned, I don't know the extent of where my woodworking interests will take me, but at this point, I honestly can't think of a cut I have made (or wanted to make) in the last 10 years that I can't make on this Delta!

If space or money is at all a factor (for me it was arguably space), then I would recommend this saw. You simply can't beat it for the money, and since guides and table extensions are EASILY made with good lumber, this was the right purchase for me.
