Recently my landlords installed an overhead tarp to my side deck to prevent my washer from taking a beating from the elements. I live in Florida and it gets hot and humid and moderately cold in the winters. My question is this I was able to move my portable dryer outside so that I have more kitchen room and I was wondering if the elements and I don't mean the rain, I have made provisions for that, but the elements in general will ruin my dryer??. I also used a leg of a pair of pantyhose for years to trap the lent. Is it necessary to still put the pair of pantyhose on the back of the hole to catch the lent or can it freely blow out the back of the dryer with no problems. I live in a rural area and this is the only way for me to have a washer and dryer. Any input here would be greatly appreciated as I don't know if I should keep my dryer indoors and give up the extra room I would have for a small kitchen table or leave it outside and take a chance on ruining it.

** [will] the elements in general will ruin my dryer? **
Salty air could cause premature rusting. Temperature shouldn't be a problem. Insects and rodents could infiltrate the dryer and make it their home.
** can it freely blow out the back of the dryer with no problems. **
It won't hurt the dryer but insects or rodents, etc., could get in if left uncovered.
