Can they seal the cracks somehow to prevent water from coming in? If so, what should they use for a sealant.
Or, is this a more serious problem and what would you recommend needs to be done.

- Basement concrete wall leaking
A family member's house had concrete block walls in their basement. Water is forcing it's way through the wall through cracks during rainstorms. The soil is mostly clay. It typically occurs across the west wall of the house and in past, they added drain tiles to help remove the problem. Other homes in the areas have had problems with wall collapsing.
This leakage sounds more serious than a sealant will fix. I think the rain water is running across the yard and sinking into the disturbed, porous soil against the foundation wall. If you should work on the landscaping and drainage to push water away from the house. If the house is on a big enough slope, you can dig on the downhill side of the house for a drainage pipe. The pipe will take water from outside the foundation. The next level of effort may be to install a sump pump to pump water from under the slab.
