We are finishing a railing on our deck, with X criss cross between the posts. We have one railing which is approximately 45 degree fromm the main railing. We have been unble to figure out the angle to cut the extremity of the X to fit in that double 45 degree (45 from the horizontal and 45 off the vertical post) Any suggestions

- angles for railing
It's easiest to mark it in place & make a half lap joint. But all the inside angles will add up to 180... 67.5 + 67.5 + 45 =180 or 45 + 45 + 90 = 180
