All of the supply piping in my home is 3/4 "PEX tubing. I am on a well system, and my water seems to contain a large amount of silt. I want to install a filter in the cold water line going to the kitchen faucets and the ice maker. Is there any way to adapt the 3/4" PEX to PVC or CPVC so that I can install a filter and bypass line?
This is a very easy doable project. The best thing is to go to a good plumging supply house and tell them what you have and need to do. There are a number of ways to "skin the cat" so they can easily set you up with the proper fittings. It can be done with compression fittings or crimp fittings if you have a plumber friend who might let you borrow their crimper. If not, it is easily a doable project.
