Half out the house is out of elec. I tried flipping breakers on and off, which has worked in the past when it's happened, but this time it didn't work. What else can I try to fix it before calling someone out to fix it?

That indicates the loss of one leg of the 240/120 power.
That can be caused by a bad breaker, poor connected in the panel, at the meter, or the power company's drop.
Most often the problem is in the power companies connections as they are in the weather.
So you might want to call them first.
But you did have it "fix" one time by reseting the breaker. But that could by been coincidental.
Even if it comes back on again HAVE IT CHECKED BY A PROFESSIONAL. Those types of problems can lead to fires.

so should I call the power company or my landlord to get it checked? Also when i call them what do I tell them about it? I still can't fix it and it did rain last night which is what I thought may have caused it to go out in the first place. thank u for ur help.

CAll him and tell him of the problem and if he has an electrician that he always uses and is available he might want him to come.
Otherwise suggest the power company and probably you call them so that you can be there. But again depending on the landlords availability he might want to meet the power company.
