Yes.......Treat it just like masonry...

...my question would be though...


WHY on earth would you want to paint marble?

Good question Mr.Paint,I also like the one's who just put up cedar ext. siding or oak int. trim and then want it painted.LOL,just so you can say you got cedarn or oak,it's painted who cares.Use pine and still call it whatever you want.

Retisin.........I agree completely! Anna sent me an e-mail and explained that her marble fire place doesn't look good with the new mantle they just installed.

She can paint it.......but as I told her - in my opinion - fine wood and stone should be appreciated - not painted.

To each their own...

I would stain the mantle to fit with the marble.But it is your home and you gotta live with it.Good luck
