Evelyn Auer is an associate editor for the Performance team at BobVila.com. She primarily covers reviews, how-tos, and home maintenance articles for the Performance team. Prior to joining BobVila.com, she contributed to publications in the home, art, and lifestyle spaces.
Experience
In her early career, much of Evelyn’s work centered on her hometown of Indianapolis. For the magazine Life on Tinker Street, she covered local businesses and events in the historic neighborhood where she grew up. Some of her favorite work has featured the city’s notable historical sites such as the Madam Walker Theatre and the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site. In her work for PATTERN, she covered community events and interviewed local artists, musicians, and entrepreneurs. Most recently, she has channeled her interests in sustainability and home improvement to cover everything from pest control to fireplace maintenance on BobVila.com.
Education
Evelyn attended Indiana University—Purdue University Indianapolis and graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
