ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jen Karetnick is an award-winning food writer, dining critic, and lifestyle journalist. The author/co-author of 20 books, including four cookbooks, she lived and worked on a historic mango grove in urban Miami for 20 years before moving to another historic Miami home located within a bird sanctuary. Her articles, essays, interviews, and more appear in publications including AllRecipes.com, TheAtlantic.com, HuffPost, Miami Herald, NPR, Shondaland, Southern Living, USA Today, and Women's Health & Fitness. An avid cook and gardener, she co-writes the garden-to-table newsletter Dishtillery with her sister. Karetnick holds two MFA degrees, one in poetry and one in fiction, and her creative work is also widely awarded and published.
