Sorry if this is the wrong place..not sure where to post this.

We have a one car garage that stinks to high heaven. I can't stand it - so much so that I dread going in there. I know part of the problem is ventilation. There are no windows that I could crack to let fresh air in. Currently we use it for storage as it's too small to fit a car in. I know the previous owners had their dogs living there. I've tried scrubbing the floor w/ concrete cleaner but to no avail.

Any recommendations for making it smell better? I'm thinking of painting and sealing the concrete floor - do you think this will help? Thanks!!

I would recommend that first you get some type of ventilation in your garage. There are many fans that will work, I know of the Broan LoSone ventilation fans work really well and they have really high CFM's without much noise. Check out

Also be sure to check for a floor drain. If there is one the trap has likely dried up from not using it. Adding a little water to prime the trap will stop sewer gas from entering the garage.
