I live in a ranch home that has a finished walk out basement. We've been having a problem with mushrooms growing in the floor. The floor has a plywood floorboard, covered by a carpet pad and carpet, yet the mushrooms pop through. We've picked up the padding and carpet and removed the mushrooms several times, using various cleansing agents, but the mushrooms keep re-appearing. Any suggestions how to kill the mushroom growth once and for all???

A passing thought; How about weed killer? Maybe that will work. C.

You have a moisture problem that is allowing mushrooms, fungi, mold etc to colonize the plywood and/or carpet. You need to deal with the moisture. Cellarwater is more of an expert in this department. Maybe you could describe the degree of moisture problem and what is under the plywood (cement?). You may need a moisture barrier.
