36" front entry door with 10" sidelights
I have a 6'8" by 36" front door with two 10" sidelights that need replacement. It seems that all of the vendors that I have found only have 12" and 14" sidelights available. I want to keep the 3' door but the rough opening does not support having 12" sidelights. Does anyone know of a vendor that supplies 10" sidelights along with a fiberglass or steel door?
We are having the same problem at our house. However, I have found that both LOWE's and ********** do have vendors that carry the 10" sidelights. Anderson doors have the option on some models as does a company known as Rochman (I think). So far, the Anderson door is coming in at the lowest price of just under $2,000 installed. If YOU find anything else, please share!
We found a vendor through ********** that supplies 10" sidelights. The vendor is Therma-Tru and the product is Smooth Star fiberglass door systems. The 10" styles are limited but it does solve the problem. The price is good also: $700 for the door and sidelights and another $430 to install it.
Alabama, Texas and Georgia are primarily the only 3 states have have 10" sidelights in homes. Most other states have 12" and 14", buildings figured by installed a 10" they would save more money. I work for North Georgia Replacement Windows and we offer a about 22 different sidelight styles. (Also, don't be afraid to take out the door and sidelights and install a double door)
What is your opinion of replacing a 36" x 80" door with 2 sidelights with a 2-30" x 80" doors with no sidelights. My rough opening width is only 62 1/2". Is 30" too narrow for daily use? Thanks.
