Help. I have a Sears 32 foot extension ladder that is about 25-30 years old. Do not have model number. I need the springs that engage the rung locks. The steps are flat, about 4" wide-not the D-ring type that is on all the ladders now. I found a ladder that has the type of rung lock on my ladder, but my ladder is different from the one in the picture. Can anyone help with a source of the springs?

I probably have the same ladder that is now 28 years old. Mine has the model # but no manufacturer (faded or wore off but dad was a Sears shopper so I guess he bought it there) and can't find anything. Even Werner on their website states that they only make parts for 15 years.

I bought some springs (Lowes, Home Depot) and cut them shorter and curled the ends. They work and the ladder is again usable.
