I have a old home that the front porch needs to be replaced. i have cement steps that come up to the porch, There are big pillers that hold the roof on. But I also have a basement that is right under the porch. Since the porch is bad it is leaking into the basement. What is the best way to repair the porch? What would be the best thing to use wood, cement, composite decking?

Most porches on older homes were constructed using tongue and groove porch flooring boards.
These are still available usually through a local lumber yard.
The porch roof can be supported using 2x6 or 2x8 from ground to the roof.
Hope this helps
