My older home has fibreglass insulation in walls and attic, but the R value is not high enough. My question is can we have blown in insulation put in with the existing fibreglass insulation? It would be impossible to take out all the old insulation or install additional fibreglass in the walls, as the house is done from top to bottom. However, It is too cold to leave it the way it is. We have already had all new windows installed and will be doing exterior doors next, but this only increased our energy efficiency by six percentage points and our heating bills are crazy.

Find a very experienced company to blow it in as this is a tricky install. Not everyone can handle it the right way,
