I installed one last year and it has the downdraft ventingthat goes out the wall. Everything work great, EXCEPT! the hood outside is a standard 6" one like those used for dryers. It is letting cold air in so I had to tape a chinette to the blower opening behind the filter and not use it. It also does something on windy days that at first scared the heck out of us. The damper would start banging as if someone was pounding on a door to get in.
Where can I get a proper draft door for this? Also is there a damper I can install that can close it off totally when not in use? I seldom use the grill now that I found the Jenair Oven broils much better than the grill can ever cook a steak.

Dryers use 4" vent pipe with a 4" vent cover.

You can get a Jenn Air spring loaded 6" wall cap at the following link:

I'm sure it should be possible to install a manual damper into the ducting (if you still have access to it) like is often used in heating ductwork but anything you install in such a line will contribute to a grease build up there and also hamper cleaning of the ducting when necessary.
