The floor of my basement is crumbling. It has also sunken down around the drain in our laundy room. How do fix this problem? If anyone knows, please, PLEASE, let me know.

THANKS

There are several possible explanations for what is happening. You could have a hole in the drain line, the floor may not have been prepared properly before the concrete was poured, you may have a ground water problem under the slab, etc. Without seeing it first hand it is near impossible to tell what it is.

Your best bet is to consult with a local building contractor. He will be able to look at the existing conditions and give you his recommendation and an estimate of the repair cost.

No matter what the problem is, the floor will likely need to be replaced along with possible drain line work or installation of under slab drainage.
