I have what my contractor friend calls original cinderblock. You can scratch out as much cinder as you want! I have several cracks in the basement which allow some seeping water when it rains. I think I have a handle on what to do on the outside, but what do I fill the cracks with? Hydraulic concrete? Morter mix? Then, what do I seal it with?

I helped my brother with the same problem about 5 years ago. we had a small excavator availible and dug around the crack on the outside. then we chiped or widen the grove of the crack out, then their is a sealer-mix they make just for this purpose that the fill the crack with on BOTH sides of the wall. inside and out. I am not 100% sure of the name of the product but the anme was like wet seal. the product could be applied to a cracl currently leaking water and seal it up. after it cured we resealed the outer wall with the black sealer and filled the hole it never leaked again.
