Okay...the only thing I know about plumbing is that it has something to do with water.

My kitchen faucet (tall and curved for putting large pots underneath) sprung a leak in the metal neck part of the faucet. Never seen that before...tiny, tiny little pin holes in the neck. I'm thinking maybe I accidentally got something coerrosive on it? I don't know...

Now, I have to buy a replacement faucet. My hard is it, to do this type of job for someone who's never touched plumbing before?

What do I need to know? What tools should I have, etc.?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Kimber - doesn't look like anyone wants to help you out.

If you've never done this before I suggest you hire it's not all that complicated but there are special tools involved and specific procedures for sealing the new faucet and water line connections to prevent future leaks. No one mentions this much but water damage is the no. 1 cause (and cost) for home repairs (this does include all sources of water damage).

partial response -- how hard it is depends a lot on your size and flexibility. If you can fit your top half into the cabinet under the sink, lie on your back, and then still use your arms and hands, you're halfway there.

Well first that tall spout is replaceable on most units.........making a repair alot easier.....(no need to remove or change the faucet just the spout).....Find the name of the manufacturer and check with a plumbing store to see if parts are available.

Depending on the might involve unscrewing the nut at the base of the spout and reinstalling a new fitting.
