(this is one the of the most helpful and quick forums.. thanks for prior help!)..
I am doing a small reno in a clothes washing room, making it a pseudo kitchen. The washer is one full base cabinet away from the sink base. The vertical drain pipe that handles the sink outflow is directly behind the to-be-installed sink. Not being a plumber, but being determined, i see no troubles with the sink, but wondered about the fittings to hide the outflow from the washer (it used to be just a pipe draining into the utility sink. Now we cabinets and such we want to hide it. I am putting in a recessed box to move the taps feeding the washer out of the way, and wanted to use the 2" holes in that box to outflow back to the original down pipe, but there are 3 studs in the way, and i assume i cannot cut a 2" hole in them as that is way too large. is my only alternative to cut holes and run the pipe along the back of the new cabinet that sits between the sink base and the washer? many thanks, drew..
