When my toilet is flushed a few drops of water "spit" out of the bowl and onto the unwary user. I haven't been able to figure out what causes the spitting, nor what to do to stop the spitting. Any suggestions of how to assess the situation in order to proceed with fixing it?
If the toilet is older, you can probably afford to reduce the amount of water in the tank. My toilet allows me to adjust the level using a clip on the float.
Another option to use less water is a Toilet Bank. http://www.energyfederation.org/consumer/default.php/cPath/27_1232_280 this will reduce the volumne of water in the tank therefore reducing the head pressure during the flush.
I am sure the Tiger man has a better suggestion.

My toilet does spit water out and it feels disgusting. I have tried putting a brick in it which didn't help. Even if i cover the seat and flush but it still spits it on to the seat so every time to wipe it is another job.
Please suggest.

I cleaned all the holes under the rim until they appeared unclogged. I used a screwdriver to scrape away the majority of the build up. Then I scrubbed each hole with a nipple brush covered with lime away on the end, (protect your eyes). I then squirted lime away into each hole and left it sit as long as I could before the next flush, (good idea to potty before this step). Worked great and my toilet looks like new. Good luck and I hope it works for you. Please remember...you are working with chemicals that can splash into your eyes, as you are cleaning and flushing : )
