question my service to my property is underground yesterday they checked the line coming to the house and found it was grounding out as they said the 220 side is grounding to the neutral it also had burnt the connection up at the pole.

my question is this i have had the main breakers in the house literelly melt and have had to change them also had an audible transformer like sound from the breakers in the house and the meter itself.

they stated to me that this fault could have caused a fire should i now have my breaker pannel looked at to check for damage or will it be okay. also any other problems this may have caused let me know so i can have a professional look at it if i have to thanks

What size is your service and what kind of load do you have in the house? You should not have had that kind of trouble if it had been properly sized and installed. How old is it? What make breaker panel? What material conductors for the service feeders?
