need diagram or detaled wiring explanation for switch light light switch. swich is power sourse.
I'm assuming you are installing a 3 wire light switch and you have standare 110 VAC sheathed electrical cable house wires. The wires should be colored black (hot), white (neutral), and green (ground). Hook the wires as detailed below...
one screw terminal should be copper - black
one screw terminal should be silver - white
one screw terminal should be green - green
one screw terminal should be copper - black
one screw terminal should be silver - white
one screw terminal should be green - green
tsimko, that makes no sense. Switches do not have neutral connections, hence no differentiation between silver and gold screws. There will be a black screw on 3 way switches for the common connection, but no neutral connection. You are confusing receptacles with switches, a scary thought!
Lanlord, is this short for Landlord, if it is you should have a licensed EC do this work if it is in a rental property.
I know it sounds simple to do, but done by a layman, it can be dangerous to those sleeping in the house.
If it is in your own home, go for it.

You don't normally do it that because you need 4 wire+grd cable between the lights.
If you let = represent 3 wire and- represent 2 wire you should do it
power-SW=SW-L1-L2
or
power-SW=L1=SW and L1-L2
or
power-L1-SW=SW and L1-L2
