4 years ago I finished a portion of knotty pine with an oil based poly. Any problem with going over this now with a water based poly?

Personally, I'm not much of a fan of water borne polyurethanes. But if you insist, it can be done if you sand thoroughly with a fine (220) sandpaper first. Its important that you completly de-gloss the surface by sanding. Any area you miss will not allow the water borne poly to bond.
