My side by side stopped cooling and freezing. It will only freeze at the very bottom of the freezer. I don't know where to find the model number! Could it just need freon? Or could something else be wrong?

** Amana Side by Side refridgerator. I don't know where to find the model number! **

You can find tips for locating the model and serial number identification tag on your appliances at the following link:

- Model Number Tag Location Guide

BTW. The manufacturing (MFG) number may be required as well.

** stopped cooling and freezing. It will only freeze at the very bottom of the freezer. **

The only way I can see the temperature at the bottom of the freezer being any different than the top would be if no air movement was taking place. Check the operation of the fan motor.

Other cooling problem possibilities are described at the following link:

- My refrigerator is not cooling properly. What might be the problem?

** Could it just need freon? **

JUST??? *IF* it did it would be a serious problem and pretty expensive to correct. You had better hope not.
