Sleep-walking last night I went into the bathroom and turned the water on but failed to turn it off which led to my bathroom, kitchen and basement having water this morning. I've already cleaned up most of the water, but my ceiling fan in the kitchen is still leaking. I'm just curious as to how to go about fixing everything because I have no one else. Please help! I have little children and I need to get this fixed. Thank you for your time! I didn't know if plumbing was where I should post this or not.

It is going to take some time for the dripping to stop as drywall and or plaster hold water like a sponge and will depending on the ambient humidity how long it will take to dry up completely.

Now is the time to call your insurance company as you may have a mold problem and I think you should have an electrician check out

the fixture prior to turning it on
