I'm totally stumped.
My system is nearly from 1965, supplied by a 100 foot well and has run without a hitch all these years.
Suddenly we began getting a lot of air bubbling in the pipes on all three floors of the house in each zone.
Zone cocks were drained on each floor and each zone was flushed fully at basement level till water ran clear and no air was found. Air was right back within hours and continues to return regardless of bleeding and purging of the system. We can find no leakage and the boiler isn't calling for excessive water.
Pressure tank checks out fine and there is no air whatsoever in the main household water system - only the boiler for the hot water heating system.
