I am having a terrible issue with black mold in my bathroom, which has seeped into my main hallway through the carpeting. You can see the mold showing through the new floor tile and in the bathtub/shower areas. I also have found it in the walls of the linen closet.
Not really sure who to contact about this issue. My insurance will take care of it, however, not much money to be given out to fix the problem, so, my having to shell out money is a real problem/question here.
I purchased the home on the slab about a year ago, and the mold began to show it's ugly face within 10 months from the date of purchase. It was repaired (??) by the realtor/county program coordinator, however, a shoddy job that was. . . . They did the bare minimum.
Have contacted them, but, to no avail. . . .
Any suggestions?????

I would run a Healthful home mold test first to determine if it is Stachybotrys. Sounds like you may have to put litigation pressure on the Realtor. There is a lab test in that healthful home kit also. I would run it to. That lab has an AIHA accreditation and experts that work with a lot of litigation projects. Someone there can help you move the process along.
