Frosting Glass for Privacy
I read your article on suggested ways to frost glass and I am wondering if the etching cream has any weakening effect on the glass. For instance, does it make it thinner, more susceptible to breakage? I've been watching a lot of videos of people demonstrating the use of etching cream and so many are saying that they leave the cream on much longer than the instructions so that they get a clear, not fuzzy, design. Since the etching cream essentially is removing a layer of glass, I am wondering if used on a window or door glass will it have a negative effect. Thanks for the article. I've used Krylon's spray on several projects and really like the effect so I tried it on an external window but don't like the look and am trying to find another way to add privacy yet keep light. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
